A NOTE FROM
OUR FOUNDER

At age 31, the episodic migraines I’d experienced my entire life took a sharp turn. My 1-3 migraines per month escalated to 2-3 per week, and my “non-migraine” days were filled with constant moderate to high pain. I no longer had headache-free days. My life changed. As I struggled to maintain any semblance of work or personal life, I cycled through countless doctor’s appointments, tests, and medications. Yet, nothing I tried even slightly reduced my daily pain.

However, there was one remedy I’d known since childhood: cold therapy. Cold washcloths and ice packs had always provided my head with some relief. I began searching online for an ice pack made specifically for headaches or migraines. I found and purchased several options, only to be disappointed in one way or another. Some were too bulky to wear comfortably as a headband, others barely stayed cold for more than five minutes, and some were simply too cold to place directly against my skin. I kept searching, but I simply couldn’t find a wearable, long-lasting, double-sided ice band that offered both medium and high cooling.

This led me to create Pakopas, designed to provide everything I couldn’t find but desperately needed. With a little help from my mother, I learned to sew and began creating prototype after prototype, experimenting with different fabrics and styles. The result is an easily wearable, adjustable, double-sided ice band that lasts for hours—my perfect headache ice pack.

My hope is that Pakopas can provide relief to many others, just as it has for me. Given that migraine is the third most common disease globally, headache and migraine sufferers deserve effective home treatment options. Please share Pakopas with family and friends who you think could also benefit from cold therapy relief.

The name Pakopas is derived from Greek words meaning obedience and suffering, as we often learn through our biggest and most painful challenges.
